Edgar Allen Poe

Dear People,
So we all have heard of Edgar Allen Poe. Well, today in English, we read "A Tell-Tale Heart". And what do you think the classes reaction was?
"He's crazy!"
"He's retarded!" (I'm sorry, but my brother has autism so I HATE that.)
"He's stupid!"
"How did this become famous?"

These people have no appreciation of the arts! None of them read books, or poetry. None of them know what "Phantom of the Opera" or "Sweeney Todd" is even about!

So now, I ask you. Most of us on this site have an appreciation for the classics (I hope so) and we also know some people who are ignorant of their content. So, who do you know that is like my class of 8Th grade class?
