Are You Okay?

One day, someone asked me... "what's your favorite MCR song?"

I giggled like an idiot and told her "all of them, stupid."

Every My Chemical Romance song means something different to me... asking me to pick a favorite is like me asking you which of your 48 (approximately) children is your favorite. If you don't know by now, MCR is "the band that saved my life" and I honestly worship the ground they walk on.

Let me just say this... "I'm Not Okay" was my fucking anthem for two years. I can't listen to "Early Sunsets Over Monroeville" without bawling my eyes out. "Vampires Will Never Hurt You" takes my breath away. The day that changed my world, 9/11, is beautifully represented by "Skylines and Turnstiles." And every fucking night, I rock out to "Bury Me In Black."

I didn't turn my back on them when they produced The Black Parade. You're mad at them, because they changed? Who the fuck DOESN'T change? They grew up, and I respect the need to move on to new things. They can't remain broody, screamo-esque idols forever... Gerard Way is almost 33. "Welcome To the Black Parade" is a beautiful song, reaching the 'anthem' status just as much as "I'm Not Okay" did in my mind. "I Don't Love You." "Disenchanted." And of course, "Sleep," close to my heart just because I DON'T fucking sleep... a personal problem of mine xD

So while this journal entry may seem a bit angsty, I don't intend for it to be. I'm just here to say that every single one of MCR's songs is awe-inspiring, so much that I'm writing about it here looking like a babbling little fangirl. Which I hate doing :]

Those songs are so inspiring, EACH of them is cause to write a story. Actually, I think that's exactly what I'll do...

Ladies and gentleman, I think I just found a cause for living.
