Green Day. 8/12/09

So, I saw Green Day 1 week ago today, in Brisbane.

Whatever I say in this journal about the concert will not even do it justice, I can't explain how incredible this experience was.

So, I live 9 hours away from Brisbane by train, and about 45 minutes by plane. So obviously, we flew down there because last time we took the train, BORING. Anyway, I went with my Mum and two sisters, both older. One is 32 and one is 19 and I'm 15. My Mum is... none yo bizznez. ANYWAY. I keep getting off track. We landed in Brisbane around 11:15-ish and checked into our hotel. Then walked down the road and had lunch at this pub, and holy cheeseballs the food was AMAZING. The salad was incredible, and I hate salad. :S They put vinegar on it or something.

Then we shopped all day and went back to the room around 4pm. We got ready and then walked to the train station and caught the train to the Brisbane Entertainment centre, had a few drinks, and then went inside. First off Jet were the support act, and holy cow they were AWESOME. I forgot just how loud concerts were though because the last one I went to was in 2007. :\

So I'm not gonna' lie, I was a little overwhelmed. This was also my first mosh, may I add. At other concerts we either have seats or stand away from the mosh. But we were really close to the stage, I thought it was going to be MADNESS. But people were actually pretty cool, didn't get shoved much, so we weren't really IN the mosh, just on the edges. ANYWAY. Jet were awesome, and then Green Day came on. Well, before they did a drunk dude in a pink bunny outfit with like 2 beers in his hands came on stage, pretty sure it was Tre Cool, but I don't know. It was pretty hilarious, everyone was like "CHUG CHUG CHUG". Then he went off stage and the intro started.

Can you say, BEST SETLIST EVER?
When they played Know Your Enemy, Billie-Joe came into the crowd, and guess what? He came to the EXACT SPOT WHERE WE WERE. He was literally like 2 metres away from me, standing on the stairs. He picked someone out of the seats to play his guitar. So jealous, haha. Some other highlights were, Billie-Joe pulled his pants down and showed us his ass, HAHA. And got about 3 different people up on stage (during different songs). They got a chick up on stage to sing all of Longview, she actually did a pretty good job, even though she forgot the words a few times hahaha.

But anyway, this is really long and no one wants to read a really long journal, but I just wanted to write about it. It was just so incredible, I can't even... just... GAH.

Green Day are possibly the best band on earth. In my opinion. :)

They played that same venue the next night, so we were sitting in our hotel room like UGH I WANT TO GO AGAIN, and on the radio they said there were still some tickets left too, but oh well. I hope they come back next year. :D

The pain was just :O, my feet were killing me, they have never hurt that much before, but it was so worth it. My Mum completely lost her voice for about 2 days as well, from singing and screaming so much. But oh man, it was worth it. I would see them again in a heartbeat.

But we stayed in Brisbane until Thursday, so 2 nights, 3 days. Had breakfast at the Pancake House, wasn't very nice. :\ But eh. Our hotel room was GORGEOUS. But anyway, I'll be in Brisbane again in February for SOUNDWAVE! :D

xoxo.

EDIT:
I forgot to mention all the fire and confetti :O.
Seriously, everytime the flames came up you instantly got this big wave of heat, it was insane. The confetti came out at the end, and after the show I picked up so much of it. It had the new Green Day logo on every piece. XD
EPIC.
