The new fad: Vampires and Everything else NOT good.

It seems as though every year, teenagers pick a new thing to obsess over. I remember one year it was character backpacks, the next it was the 80's, and now, Vampires.

One thing I would like to know, and you can leave this in a comment, is why Vampires are such a big thing in the years 2008 and 2009?

I have a couple of reasons why I think teenagers are obsessing:
Twilight
Twilight
Twilight
Stupidity
and Twilight.

I also have a couple of reasons why I think teenagers should NOT obsess over Vampires:
Why be a follower?
Vampires are uberly fake
There is nothing good that comes out of Vampires
and Why not be creative and make a new fad? Or bring an old fad back into 2010?

My frustrations are more with teenagers than it is Vampires. There are too many pregnant, naive teenage girls out here and an equal amount of sex crazed, unwise teenage boys.

So, I ask of you to answer a few questions in the comment area:
Of course, why are Vampires such a big thing in 2008 and 2009?
What, if any, new/old fad would you like to bring in/back?
And, how was your day? (Seriously.)
