Animal product alternatives for vegans:

Many of these products can be found at just about any grocery store. If taste is preventing you from becoming vegan, it may not be a factor once you find a product that tastes exactly whatever you miss from your old diet.

Be sure to check the ingredients to ensure that the animal product alternatives you use are truly vegan. Some are just made suitable for vegetarians and/or those with food allergies. Often, there are vegan alternatives just like vegetarian alternatives you like but in different brands.

Milk:
-Soy milk
-Rice milk
Both available at most grocery stores
-Almond milk

Hot dogs:
-Lightlife Tofu pups

Burgers:
-Boca vegan veggie burgers
-Morningstar vegan burgers
Should be available at most grocery stores

Chicken:
-Boca chicken patties
-Morningstar Grillers Chicken
-Boca chicken nuggets
Should be available at most grocery stores

Cheese:
-Follow Your Heart vegan cheeses (great for pizza)
-Galaxy Nutrition vegan cheese (check label)
Galaxy is available at many stores

Cream cheese:
-Tofutti
-Follow Your Heart

Butter:
-Earthbalance
-Smartbalance vegan

Ice cream:
-Rice dream
-Tofutti brand ice cream (available at some grocery stores)
-Turtle Mountain

Eggs for baking:
-Ener-g egg replacer

Chocolate:
-Check label. Most chocolate, even dark, contains at least a little milk. There are vegan chocolates out there, however.

Cookies and cakes:
-There are vegan brands, but I forget what they are called. Probably found at natural foods stores.

Mayonnaise:
-Follow Your Heart vegenaise

Deli "meats"
-Yves deli "meats" (tons of vitamins)
-Lightlife
