Ghosting, Essays and Margaret Thatcher.

Ghosting.

Thy Mibbian face is ghosting, due to technical difficulties with this monitor so everything has an eerie, just visible anti-matter döppelganger. Thus, my head seems to shift my perception somewhat and everything around me has a twin apparition by their side. I'm not sure whether that's a psychological affliction or just a duplicity matrix burnt into my retinas. Either way, it's giving me a headache.

Speaking of aches, I also have a backache due to photocopying about a hundred pages from various textbooks for an essay on a subject of which they have NOT taught yet. Which is most irksome to ones sensibilities. It is difficult enough conducting a finely tuned essay - which on closer inspection usually turns into doggerel - without having to figure out what the actual topic is all about. I've never ever did anything on perception. It is fascinating but it betrays my true love of memory. There was a memory question but it seemed too vague so perhaps, challenging myself like one is expected to is good.

Did you know there's a psychological phenomenon called Thatcher Effect? Basically, when you turn an image of a face upside down and invert the eyes and mouth, most people disregard this until closer inspection?

It's not very good quality but it illustrates the point.

Another snippet of Valentines-y information is that you know the lovey-dovey film Love, Actually? The idea was conceived when Thatcher was in power so the true Love, Actually should have rightly been a lesbian affair which would have made a more interesting film. I detest rom-coms/chick flicks. They're very tedious.
