Halfway There

it's more or less halfway through summer now, so I thought an update or something was in order.

Honestly, my summer has been boring. I went and saw a few movies, but mostly I've been killing time. Writing is going good, although I'm still in the midst of plotting and creating characters. I've completely redone Butterfly Warrior from the ground up; it has a new plot, new characters, and a whole new look. I'll be taking the prologue I have up down in a couple days, and replacing it with Chapter One...as soon as I get around to writing it.

Other than writing, I'm supposed to be doing this reading for my AP LA IV class this year. I have an insanely difficult time reading required books though, because teachers always want notes and stuff to go along with them, and I hate breaking my focus. When I read, I get into the words, the world, and the characters' minds. Having to pause every few minutes to jot something down is just plain obnoxious, and thus, has resulted in me not having done any of my homework yet.

On a completely unrelated note, I've been getting trombone lessons this summer too. As anyone who knows me or has read my “About Me”, although my love for writing eats a large chunk of my time, music is first and foremost my biggest passion. I'm going to be majoring in Music Performance in college, so I've been brushing up with private lessons, and hopefully a Music Theory class this year in school. I really do love music, so it's important that I perfect my technique. I can't even begin to imagine how embarrassing it would be if I was rejected from college because of a bad audition.

I guess since I'm talking about music, I might as well add that marching band starts soon. I can hardly wait, of course. I love camp and just marching in general. God, I'm such a geek.

That's all I have this time...so...yeah. Bye.
