Avenged Sevenfold Nightmare

I don't know how to feel about it.
It's so different from anything they've done, I think and I'm not sure that I like it.
I mean their songs used to mean something, they were about something real that you could relate to.

I know they said it before that it was the darkest album they've done but I didn't expect it to have no deph (ability to apply knowledge or experience or understanding or common sense and insight).

The only thing I can say I truly like is the sound, because its still "Avenged Sevenfold" but the lyrics are like a dark fantasy and I don't see anything real about them.
They have some good quotes in them, but for the most part it seems like they're trying to hard to shock/scare and be dark.

I'm still a bit open minded and am still looking forward to the album but I'm afraid when I listen to it I'll feel like I'm hearing the soundtrack to a horror/emo movie about demons and hell and life being too hard... (Don't comment on this, I know A7X is not emo).

To me they used to have more deep than this.
Their songs had a stronger meaning.
They were real.
