I think in today's world, privacy is not a normal right that we are
allotted. Television, MTV for example, provide enough evidence to support this. On the "Real World" a handful of young adults
live together with camera's continually peering over their shoulders- lies, cheating, and scandalous acts are revealed. People
get hurt and some experience life-altering events. And their privacy to millions of viewers everywhere is strung out and for
what? One hour of mind-less entertainment? It's frustrating thinking about consciously being watched, being a teenager whom
lives their life with their thirteen year old sister on a couch, privacy is not so much a luxury, but rather a distant
dream. George Orwell's fear however, is still a bit over-board. Aside, from all the cameras and private investigators, the
police have a ton of control of our lives. Did you know that it is legal for cops to steal your identity? This used to be
illegal no more than eight years ago, but it all changed when Ohio passed a new law aimed at combating, ironically, identity
theft. The 2002 law allows law enforcement agencies to take anyone's personal information (driver's license number, Social
Security Number, etc.) and give it to an agent to use while undercover. Unfortunately, not all cops are "good" and take
advantage of this in order to get away with ridiculous scams such as creating a new chapter in your life as an "exotic
dancer".
