Why does the media just talk about losing weight? What about the others that want to put on weight?

Have you noticed how the media always shows stories about people trying to lose weight, but never about people that are trying to gain weight?
It is most common in teenage girls, I would say.
And I can't speak for everyone; but it does get kind of frustrating when people get annoyed about others complaining about being too skinny.
They say they get jealous, but I'm sure they wouldn't if they got called a 'stick' even by others that know about their insecurities.
I am 16 years, 160cm and weigh 44kg. I have been trying to put more weight on, and I have put on 2kg over the last couple of months.
Having said all of this, I do believe that people shouldn't be judged by their looks. But that still doesn't change how I feel.
If you understand what I am talking about please comment.
Comments about anything related would also be appreciated :)
