Are all Highschools like this?

Highschool.
Ugh.
I just started as a Freshman.
I went to a Catholic Grammer school, and right now i'm in a public highschool.
I never got lost yet; which is good.
But it's only been 3 days.
I've made 5 or 6 new friends.
Well, tonight there was a freshman dance.
And none of those friends were there.
I was basically alone in a corner.
Everyone who goes there went to the same public grammer school, so they all had their cliques.
I tried talking to some but they just ignored me.
Are all highschools like this?
Or am I just "shy" ?
i'm really not actually.
You just got to get to know me.
But no one wants too cause they all have their cliques already.
Sigh.
Sorry, I just needed to rant.
