The epicentre was based about 20km from my house so we got shaken up pretty bad but we're all ok and our house doesn't have any damage. Some other people, my friends included weren't so lucky. My best friend next door had her chimney fall off the roof and other buildings have been completely destroyed.
I'm just glad that NZ, Canterbury in particular has strict Earthquake protection restriction things on houses so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. This earthquake was just as bad as the one in China and they suffered so much worse, I seriously feel for them now that I've experienced it :/
Two casulties in intensive care at the hospital and other minor injuries but we're all relatively ok, just shaken up (scuse the pun).
