My grandma just found out she's in remission, but she had lymphoma, blood cancer and lung cancer. My great aunt my great grandma both died of breast cancer. And my great aunt died of brain cancer.

1 in every 2 men develop cancer and 1 in every three women develop cancer. Cancer takes the life of one person per minute. "In the United States in 2007, approximately 10,400 children under age 15 were diagnosed with cancer and about 1,545 children will die from the disease ... On average, 1 to 2 children develop the disease each year for every 10,000 children in the United States. " Millions of people have this disease and there is no cure.

Think about this, what if you're the one female/male out of the two/three? What if your mother or father is? What can you do about it? What if your son or daughter, or aunt or uncle, or grandma or grandpa, or cousin, or sister or brother develop caner? What will you do? Just because no one you know has cancer doesn't mean no one you know can't develop cancer.

However, there are precautions you can take. Go here: http://su2c.standup2cancer.org/getinvolved/whatucando.
