9.17.10 Paramore Concert in San Jose, CA!

Alright, so on friday night I went to the Honda Civic Tour to see Paramoree Livee! I've actually already seen them live, (went on a 3-4 hour roadtrip to Reno, NV last year for the Final Riot! Tour) so I already knew it was going to be ah-ma-zing. AND IT WAS! XD So here are the events that took place that night:

After spending the day with my best friend Ashley, (mostly shopping for Holloween costumes) we finallly got to get in the car for that 45 min drive to San Jose. Once we got to the HP Pavillion, we noticed this guy yelling into a microphone about how "Jesus Saves" and we have to "Devote Ourselves to Him" or some other random shit like that. First of all, it's a fucking PARAMORE concert, not Lady Gaga or some other "Going-to-"Hell"" singer. (I actually like Gaga, but it's a common opinion among religious folks that she's going to "Hell". *rolls eyes*) So we really didn't get why he was at THIS show, but it was still pretty fucking hilarious.

So after laughing at him all the way into the building (we weren't trying to be mean, and we tried REALLLY hard to wait until we passed him to break out laughing, but it was hard. He was just so ridiculous! XD) we decided to just bypass the crowds and go find our seats, which proved harder for us than we thought.. And for the second time at that Arena we sat in the wrong section. :| BUT, we finally found our seats, and I was pleased to know that we were actually closer to the stage than we originally thought. :D (We didn't mosh though)

And so we waited. And waited. And took a cute picture together. And waited. And eventually the opening band (Kadawatha) started playing. First of all, I'd never heard their music and I didn't know ANYTHING about them, so I can't really judge how good they are live as well as an actual fan could, (I don't know what they were supposed to sound like, so for all I know, they could be really good, or really bad) but I wasn't too into it. It's not like they aren't good musicians, it's just that I couldn't understand/hear the lyrics, and that's what I like about music, and it was just a bit too.. "heavy metal" for me, but I seriouslyyyyy doubt they were heavy metal. They just sounded a bit like it to me. But anyway, soon enough their set was over, and what do you know, the lights come back on, and we wait some more for New Found Glory to come play.

About NFG, I'd never heard their music, and of course I'd never seen them live, but after that night, I have to say, I am now a fan. :D They were SOOO charismatic and I really liked their songs. So now I just have to actually BUY their songs. But they were really funny and cute, and really good musicians. If you haven't heard them, check 'em out. They're pretty good. ;)

And after waiting some more after they left the stage, on came Tegan and Sara! Again, never heard their music. (I was there for Paramore, shut up) But they were pretty charasmatic too, and I really loved Sara's singing voice.. it's so unique! But the music was a bit.. slow. And even though my bff Ashley thought Sara was gorgeous, she kinda fell asleep (more like half-asleep, but still) during their set. XD It was hilarious. haha

So after their set's over, more waiting. And I forgot to mention before that during the "intermissions" the screen above the stage was showing messages from the crowd, (you text the number and your message appears on the screen. Pretty cool if you ask me.) and even though the majority of the messages were something like "Scream if you love Paramore!", "Scream if you want the show to start", and my favorite: "Scream if you're tired of messages telling you to scream!". XD But probably the funniest ones were the RANDOM ones, like: "I like ham", "The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round" (that one was stuck in my head for the rest of the night, and thanks to my repeating it, it is now stuck in my head again), and other funny ones like that. Another thing I found interesting, there were like, 3 or 4 "proposals". But we didn't hear any squeels or aww's, so we think they were either joking, or everyone said no.. haha

And now that that's done, time to get on the part I waited HOURS for! So, you know in the music video for Ignorance they have those hanging down lightbulbs? Well, as soon as they came on, like 15-20 of the lightbulbs came hanging down to light the stage for their opener, you guessed it, Ignorance! :D And can I just say, Hayley Williams has the best stage presence EVER! That's one of the reasons I'm in love with her. (Oh, and two of the proposal's were for her. ;) haha) So after a few songs, they brought out the red couch like the one on the All We Know album cover, and made almost like a living room set up, and started playing more acoustic songs. It was really cool. :D And I was really happy that they played the country song they covered a while ago, because I hadn't heard it, and I wanted to hear what it was like. Turns out, I like it. :D

Now, for the finale. It. Was. Epic. On the second to last song they had a wall of sparks fall down behind them on the stage, it was so awesome. But the last song was even better. Towards the end of it, they started shooting out CONFETTI into the crowd! For like a solid 2 MINUTES! XD Yeah, I like confetti. ;) hehe

And that was pretty much it. I've had a headache for the last two-three days because of it, but it was worth it. Definitely worth it. I am sad that I didn't get anything to remember that night though. D: But it was still worth it. :)

Have you ever been to a concert that blew your mind? Who was it? And why? :D
