Synder v. Phelps

Recently, in the state I live in, there was some sort of protest at the funeral. It was a church saying how gay people (not trying to be rude) are in the military and saying "God is punishing us by having soilders die in the war".

As a result, the fallen soilder's father, sued Phelps, who organized the protest, and won. However, the case was appealed and overturned, the protest is protected by the First Amendment, by the next highest court. Now, the Supreme Court is taking a look at the case.

Here's my opinion:

1) It is disrespectful to protest during someone's funeral
2) The soilder was not gay (as far as I know)
3) The father should win this case, because there is a fine line with your first amendment right.

But that's my opinion. What's your's? Did you find out any new information?
