Literature Contest Cover

So at my college they are having a cover contest and I want to enter, but I don't have any ideas on what cover I want to do. Any one have any suggestions?

And I can enter an poem or short story. For anyone who has ever read my poems, do you think I should enter one of those, and which one?

Should I put in a short story instead? I know I'm asking a lot of questions, but this is my first contest that I've entered in at the college, and I know a lot of people will enter, so I just need help standing out.
