Mysteries, oh my.

My older brother & his wife just bought their first house. It's from the 30's & it's freaking adorable. It's huge though, and since they have no furniture inside it echoes and creeks & makes it seem creepy & haunted. It's sort of scary. But it's gorgeous at the same time. & dude, all of the rooms have skeleton keys. They don't have the skeleton keys sadly, but they're looking for ones that fit. & it's freaking awesome. I love skeleton keys. ::tehe:

Anyways, they've been cleaning it out (old furniture, trash in the yard, etc...) and yesterday my parents made me go over & help. It was the first time I got to see it, and I sort of want to move in with them, whether I really dislike my brother or not. Haha.

Well near the end of our visit, they found this big pillow case with a bunch of books inside. Actually, they're more like binders. They're numbered, beginning at zero & it's the original copy of someone's book. Not only is it a book, though, it's a poetry book, which somehow makes it that much more exciting. /shrugs

They aren't particularly good or anything, but it's still pretty cool. They're from the 70's & they were typed on a type writer, which I find to be pretty amazing.

The whole reason of writing this, though is because of the topics of a lot of them. He keeps talking about someone with a "fabulous smile" & yes, that is in quotation marks. It made me wonder, why is it in quotation marks? Is it an inside joke between them like my ex & I with my "cheesy" smile? It seems so mysterious, there's no way of telling who this man was or why he left the book there or what happened. All it says is dates & titles & since it doesn't appear that this ever got published or anything, I don't think I'm ever going to find out. & that saddens me, because I'd totally love to hear this man's story.

I plan on reading these books, they're all quite long, though. Maybe I'll write more about them later? We shall see.
