There could have been no better choice for

My school musical.

We're actually doing Rent!

I mean, I thought our school would never do anything like that, because it frowns upon anything vaguely sexual. But I guess the music department have weedled their way into doing this one, and I actually couldn't be more excited!

I wasn't going to audition this year because I'm in my GCSE year so have so much work all of the time, but now there's no way I'm not going to try. The musical only comes round every 2 years and it's a huge event for everyone when it does.

I don't think I'm going to try for one of the main 8 roles (the only one I could technically play is Maureen, and I know exactly who's going to be cast as her) as it would take up far too much of my time, but I think I'm going to try for Alexi or April. I don't think it matters, because you only have to audition for either a solo or chorus role, not specific parts, and therefore I'll just see what happens.

I just hope they don't cast me as a guy, because, as my school is single sex, all the girls have to play the guys as well. And because I don't have long hair and my voice (both speaking and singing) is relatively low, they have a thing for casting me as guys.

I think I'm going to do Out Tonight as my audition song. I've signed up to audition this week, and I think we get the parts on Friday. And then, as soon as mocks are finished, straight into rehearsals! Yay!
