Give plot idea's about mermaid story?

Okay, since I have an unheathy obession with mermaids, I was thinking I would do a story about one. But I have yet to think of a basic story line. So I'm asking for a basic idea from you guys. It doesn't have to be about anything in particular it can be as creative as you'd like. I'm just really stumped for a good plot line.

All It has to have to be about is a mermaid, and from there just put anything your little heart desires. Except I don't really want to do a fanfic for this one. Unless you give me an awesome reason. And I'm pretty open for anything.

And I'll credit you if I decide to use someone's idea.
