Is it possible to hate writing essays with a passion and to like writing creative stories? I hate having to sound so formal. It's like I'm being tied down. They say you should develop your writing style in essays. How is that supposed to happen if you need to sound formal?

Writing essays for me takes longer than writing a story. Sure, in both types of writing I need to pay attention to the usual grammar, word choice, sentence structure, tense, and blah blah blah. But why does creative writing flow more easily than essay writing? Probably because it's creative, there's no real limit on what you can do.

I feel so limited.

Is it bad to feel limited on something that you're supposed to express yourself with?

Yeah, I think it's bad.
