So I want some opinions.

So, one of my best friends birthdays is coming up, and I need to decide a present for her. She has already told me that my present (My birthday is the day before hers) is homeade. She said that she wants me to do something special that I made myself for her present. I know, since she is crafty, that hers will be cool and something to do with sewing. Now, I am not that amazingly crafty. But I can write. (somewhat) If i write her a story for her birthday, does that count as "special made by myself?" Because the story would be brand new, but it wouldn't be expensive or anything. I mean, I would barely spend 50 cents on it, but it would take a lot of time, to come up with the story. So, basically, am I a cheap, lame friend if I do this? Will she even like it? Please, please leave a comment and tell me.
