Insomnia

I'm not sure what time it is wherever you live but where I am it's 2:57 AM and once again, I cannot fall asleep :/ This isn't uncommon, but it's extremely irritating. I can't remember the last time I had a good night's sleep without waking up several times or without having trouble falling asleep. School is over for the year now, but I used to always get yelled at by my mom because I wouldn't go to bed early and I would be impossible to wake up in the morning. I hated just lying in bed for an hour or more until I feel asleep because that lack of activity led me to thinking, and that led me to sadness. I hate thinking, I really do.

I just finished my Junior year (finally!) and so far this summer hasn't been off to a good start. I just got out of school on the 3rd, but still, all I've done is sit in my room and go on the computer. Hopefully it'll pick up soon. I'm probably not the only one with a slow start for summer though.

Does anybody know the best way to handle insomnia? I'm almost considering talking to a doctor about it, it's gotten so bad. I'd really prefer not to take medicine for it though. I'm not even sure what's causing my insomnia but I hope it goes away soon :/
