I'm supposed to get a tattoo on Saturday. I went and got a price for it today, and I had told the artist I wanted it on the back of my left leg, just below the knee. Originally, I had wanted it on my shoulder blade, but I decided against it. Honestly, I just don't really like my back. I'm not comfortable showing it off, and I'm not comfortable with someone touching it unless I know them pretty well. A few years ago, my skin back there got really irritated from this lotion and broke out and the break outs left scars. Every now and then, it'll break out a little bit and scab over. The whole appearance of my back has improved in the past three years, but I'm still not comfortable with it.
Well, when I told my mom about my tattoo placement, she did not like it at all. She told me to think about when I'm older, and then she said that the location was more masculine. She then suggest getting it on my shoulder blade, or my actual shoulder.
Then I asked Allen about it, and he said he thinks it'll look fine on my leg, but he can think of other places where it would look better.
So now I'm just debating. I do really want a tattoo on my shoulder blade, but I'm just not comfortable with a tattoo artist touching my back. Plus my back is kinda bony, so I know it'll hurt like hell.
I don't think the back of my leg will hurt as bad (though I know it will hurt). Its just muscle back there and won't go directly over the bone.
I know I shouldn't let pain dictate where I should be tattooed, but its really irking me.
