Blue Hair

Im getting tired of my hair just being plain old black and i want to do somthing intresting to it like dye it some exotic color or somthing??
I've really been wanting to dye my bangs and a few of my top layers blue cuz tht would be pretty fuckin awesome but i have second thoughts about it:
#1: my mom told me that bleach will damage and make my hair fall out (my hair is really thin)
#2: i dont want to be bald o.O
but over all, i think it will be worth it ^-^.....

Should i still dye it for the heck of it? or what????
