so i looked up the symptoms and checked the ones i had:
When a bipolar teen is experiencing a high or "manic" phase, she may exhibit many of the following symptoms:
[x]Very fast, rapid speech and racing thoughts
[x]Excessive energy and/or hyperactivity
[x]Insomnia, sleeplessness and/or little need to sleep
[x]Extreme irritability or aggression
[x]Excessively "high" or elevated mood and unreasonable or irrational optimism - beyond
what most people would consider normal
[x]Overconfidence or an extreme sense of self-importance
[x]Difficulty paying attention or concentrating
[x]Irrational, unsafe or risky behaviors including unsafe driving, substance abuse or actions that endanger herself or others.
When a bipolar teen experiences a "low" or depressive phase, she may exhibit the following symptoms:
[x]Persistent sadness or irritability
[x]Loss of interest in activities she usually enjoys
[x]Social isolation and a lack of interest in meeting friends or participating in group activities
[x]Low energy and/or constant fatigue, including excessive sleeping or sleepiness (she may also have trouble sleeping or experience insomnia)
[x]Trouble at school, including a noticeable change in academic performance
[x]Inability to take pleasure in activities she previously enjoyed
[x]Anger, anxiety or constant worry
[x]Talking or thoughts of death or suicide
