Harry Potter/Date Night

I'm going to go watch my childhood end tonight.
I'm excited about. No, beyond excited, but I'm not ready for it either.
I've been a dedicated reader and movie goer since I was nine years old. Harry Potter has always been something I could count on. I've never been disappointed with any book or movie.

I need a new series to get into. One that will keep me well entertained and hooked. I don't care if there are movies or not. I just need the books. I do like books about magic and adventure. No vampires, and if said book starts describing a character's clothing, I cannot continue with it. Suggestions?

And since I'm leaving Wednesday for a whole week, I'm also planning on this being a pretty good date night. I already bought the movie tickets a few days ago, but I'm planning on taking my fiance out to dinner. I don't know where yet though. I just know he's usually hungry when he gets home from work, so we have from 5 to 6:45 to eat and do whatever. Maybe we'll go get some chinese food and go hang out in the bookstore looking for a new series. =3 I can't wait.
