Love Songs

I'm contemplating on why love songs are the majority of what's out there when it comes to music. Yes there's the whole because 'love is what life is about' theory but it's just not convincing me...
People want an explanation for everything. Something they can know in order to feel as if they're in control.... What if that's what love songs really are? Just an attempt at explaining what love is. For a word that seems to engulf our lives- not in a bad way of course- it can never be see to be explained. I don't think it's possible honestly... Besides the word 'I' seeing as humans tend to be insanely self centered 'love' is probably the most widely used word. And yet it can never be explained...
Why try So hard to explain it? There are several love songs I adore and I'm sure many that will be written that I'll love so, I'm not saying I don't think they should be written. I just don't think love is something that can or Should be explained.
Love is the definition. Of what? Figure it out yourself ^_^
