I always knew they’d end up in University. Ever since High school, they wanted to be Lawyers and Doctors, Go to King Ed’s College and Excel in life. I spent my entire teenage years truly believing I would become a famous Rockstar and wouldn’t have to worry about education.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not any less intelligent – I passed my GCSE’s with Flying colours, and even got a few BTEC’s in there to bunk up my marks. But after trying College Four times, I knew it wasn’t for me.
I’d tried Music, English, Graphics, Environmental Studies, Art and Design, Animal Management... The Works! But this stuff didn’t interest me.
I wanted to play music, write randomness and be a family person. I didn’t want to be consumed with work all the time; I’d tried a fair few jobs and didn’t stick them.
Boy, now I wish I had.
Sitting in bed at 7:40am, reading all the updates on my former friends’ future, it’s pathetic.
I’m too late now.
I’m too late for college.
I can’t seem to beat the recession.
Getting a Job is a nightmare.
Sticking it is even worse.
But I’ll make it through life.
