I go to an all women's college.
EXCUSE ME!
And all Womyn's college.
.......................
Yeah. Well, I expected there to a a whole mess of feminism on this campus, and I expected it to be in the classroom, but that doesn't mean it can't still annoy me. Oh well, I went to the college, I should just deal with it right? Well, here is my problem with the feminist based education:
Not all men are assholes. Some are, yes. Most are, defiantly. But not all. (Note, I say men, not boys.) BACK ON TOPIC!!
My whole reason for writing this is to help broaden my view on feminism. At the present, when I hear "feminist" I automatically think of burning bras, picket rallies complete with megaphone and soapbox. But I never thought that is what feminism should be.
Not only will this help me with an essay I am writing for my First Year Seminar, it is going to help me see other sides of the spectrum. So my question is this:
What is feminism? What should feminism be?
My answers to this question would be "Feminism is a platform for excuse making, and it should be creating choices."
I'm just curious to see what people think.
