Fresh pie. like tons and tons of it!

K mibba this would be me, tired as hell because of what I did all weekend.

Yesterday morning me and the fam went apple picking, it was cool and all of us really loved it. Problem: we got almost 70 lbs of apples. So who would have to turn them into something delicious? Well mibba, that'd be me. I was the one who had to make them into something delicous.

so I rounded up my two little cousins and took them home and together we made four quarts of apple sauce and canned them. May not seem like a lot to you, 4 quarts but it took 24 apples and 5 hours to make them and can them. I also made some really disgusting tartlets because well I was stupid and didn't put any salt in the pie crust.

Well what did you do today? You may wonder. Well today I made six pies and apple bar cookies.

In case you have some trouble understanding what a huge undertaking this all was let me run the numbers by you.
64 apples
3 lbs of flour (thats 12 cups)
3 lbs of shortening
and at least 13 hours of work.

So yes mibba, I am tired. And if you think of making pie thinking its only going to take 45 minutes-you'd be dead wrong.
