Need some help.

Does anybody know of good photoshopping sites or whatever that's free, easy to use and produces decent results?

I wanna make layouts for some new stories I'm working on, but I'd like to have awesome banners to help jumpstart my making of a good layout. I see stories with all these amazing banners and layouts, and I feel stupid if I don't have at least a decent layout. XD

I just don't like asking people to make banners for me because I feel like I'm wasting their time, especially if it's for a story they're not even gonna read. I'm just not that type of person who asks people to make stuff for my stories. To me, I figure if it's my story that I'm writing, I can at least make my own banners and layouts.

SO yeah, if anyone has any sites they prefer or something, I'd appreciate the help. :)
