The Lorax

I just re-read one of my favorite Dr. Seuss books of all time, The Lorax. I remember my mom reading it to me on her bed, I remember the pictures and the truffula trees and the Thneeds and the rock saying Unless, but I never really understood the book until now.

The whole story is about pollution and how much we need to care about our environment and how well we should treat it or all the Truffula trees will be gone and the Humming-Fish and Swomee-Swans and Bar-ba-loots will disappear as well. And companies are going to continue to expand and grow bigger unless someone like you cares and stands up for the things that we care about instead of the pointless Thneeds that absolutely no-one in their right mind needs.

I guess that was Dr. Seuss' plan all along... and for his sake I hope to never become a Once-ler. If i do I give someone the right to slap me in the face.
