I'm over happy endings.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a well written story that doesn't have a completely happy ending? I'm just tired of "boy/girl meets boy/girl, they like each other, fight, get back together, then there's love.."
It doesn't happen that way in real life. Also, no vampires. Something realistic and honestly I'm just trying to read something in which the characters aren't given rich parents who are never home. So please point me in the direction of a realistic story. No scifi, PLEASE. I'll read whatever. Thanks mibbians :)
