I'm Sorry???

It's probably just me being cynical but I've honestly given up on people saying the ever so popular phrase, I'm Sorry. It doesn't mean anything to me anymore and it's kind of sad that it doesn't. The reason on WHY it doesn't mean anything anymore is that a lot of people will say it and then turn around and do that exact same thing again. It's people like that, that made me give up. I know I shouldn't but unless you truly mean it, don't say it because it will hurt the person you say it to if you go and do that same action again. To me it is just a overused pointless phrase that I loathe. I mean sure you probably shouldn't of done what you did but you did it and you can't change the past. It's more on a personal level like:

1: My friend will do something and I'll get slightly mad and then they'll apologize and then a week later they'll do it again and apologize. That cycle will go on forever.

2: Or the people who just say it to cover their asses when they say something that makes me angry or sad.

and 3: The ones who say it to look good.

Now I know parts of this smallish rant may not make sense but I'm just sick of hearing people openly use it. Does I'm sorry even mean anything anymore? Or is it just a new fad for people to say?
