How Do You Define a 'relationship'

Everyone uses the term, but what is understood by the term? Is it purely loving someone, and them loving back? Is it itimecy, or is it more?
Can a relationship be defined as a strong friendship, where you'll do anything for one another, tell everything to each other, and be the strongest support network for them? There every step of the way?
Is a relationship purely loving someone, and them loving you back, a special bond?

Or is it the hugging, kissing, and more....

I mean, there is a lad at my school i really like, and he likes me.. we've never called it a 'relationship', but we tell each other everything, he is always by my side, and is the most supportive person i've ever known, especially boys...

There is another person too, who is soo unbelievably close to me, who's had a crush on me since we started talking on mibba, but he's in another country...

I'd Like to hear your views fellow mibbians, because in today's world i really don't know...
