Why do they care?

Why are people so concerned with what I look like and the clothes I wear? Seriously, guys...

I went out to buy some new clothes today. When I left the house I was wearing a pink top and a pair of jean shorts that didn't show a lot of leg but were still short. I went to the clothes store and I actually found a couple of nice things. I came out of the dressing room, wearing the same clothes I showed up in, and one of the employees was standing there, rearranging the rack outside the dressing room for clothes that you don't want. She looks me up and down and says "You're way to big to be wearing shorts like that."

It kind of shocked me, and I couldn't think of anything to say except "Umm... Excuse me?"

She goes on to say "People as big as you can't wear shorts like that. You need to wear bottoms that cover your knees." I looked at her for a second, dropped my armful of clothes on the floor, and walked out.

I'm sorry that you are so grossed out by my legs, but that doesn't give you the right to make me feel like dirt.
