Originality

I'm getting back into reading more original stories on here.

I didn't realize how much I missed them. I missed the mystery at the beginning of a story when you don't know a thing about the characters, setting, plot. I've found so many good starts to stories on the new Comment Swap feature.

Now, I'm in search of some completed (or at least longer) stories to delve into. Who said originality was dead? Although in regards to a lot of things, it seems to be, stories aren't (and I can never see them as) one of them. There are so many stories to be told, so many different characters to explore, and so many emotions to convey.

Maybe now I can get back to my few originals on here that I've lost touch with. Maybe I can find some inspiration to continue them.

And this blog is not against Fan Fiction ('cause I love me some great fan fictions!), but sometimes they can get repetitive. I can only read the same plot about the same characters so many times before it becomes redundant. /mini rant

Back to original pieces. I forgot how much more you can fall in love with a character or story when you don't have a preconceived notions going in. I can easily have an open mind as I start reading the opening chapter. I can delve completely into the world created (within the story and my own mind). And I can find more ways to fit myself into the story - whether it's as an onlooker or a main character, I can easily find myself within the story in some way.

So here's to Mibbian Original stories! I'm off to find a few more good ones. Unless you have any suggestions? What're your favorite original stories?
