10 Things To Do On Long Car Rides

What, exactly, can one do during a 9 hour and 15 minute long car ride from Cleveland to Albany? I will compile a list.

1. Read! Of course. This is my favorite activity. I adore getting lost in a book for hours and hours. I'm currently reading Cornelia Funke's "Inkheart" trilogy. Love it. <3

2. Write. I wrote a note for my boyfriend, and scribbled down some story ideas. I literally have whole notebooks filled with Abandoned Beginnings. Also some Interesting Middle Bits, and one or two Maybe Possibly Endings.

3. Sleep. Always a good one. Wake up three hours later and you only have six hours to go!

4. Jam out to music. Unfortunately, iPods sometimes die and then you have to listen to your dad singing off-key to disco music. *shudder*

5. Talk to people. This can be via text or phone call. I personally like phone calls better, mostly because when I say weird things my dad makes a funny face at me.

6. Eat food. My Road Trip Necessities? Barbecue chips, Twizzlers, mints, and ice-cold water.

7. Play The Alphabet Game. Find each letter of the alphabet on road signs, etc. In order. Harder than you think.

8. Talk to your dad* about College Plans. EEK.

9. Stare out the window and count how many times your dad says "Wow, it's dry up here!" (For the record, my father said that thirteen times today.)

10. Play with your toes. Toes are quite fascinating. My little brother says that my toes look like caterpillars. Uhm?

Another long car trip tomorrow. Prepare for boredom-blabbing galore. Goodnight, lovely Mibbians! <3

*or your mom. Or your Aunt Jemima. Or whoever you happen to be driving with.
