Some Stories Require Research and Planning

Which is what I am now learning. I always wondered why my stories turned out to be crap or why I could never get passed writing the first friggin' chapter! Seriously guys, background research makes your story way more believable. Trust me, it's kind of obvious when you don't know what your talking about. Like if your story involves drugs (and you don't know the first thing about 'em) or you're writing a sex scene (and you're about as inexperienced as baby) you gotta know some of your stuff.

Another thing about writing is planning, which always throws me for a loop. If your thing is writing on the fly, then good for you but most people have to plan out their chapters and whatnot. For me, I usually get this big inspiration and a vague plot together and try to write myself into Mibba fame. And you know what? It goes nowhere.

So what I'm trying to say is, if you're like me and get ahead of yourself, remember writing takes patience especially if you want your story to be perfect. Research and planning can mean the difference between 'meh' and 'marvelous'!
