Hockey Fic Plots Used As Original Fiction? Ever Consider It?

Anyone who reads my stories knows that they are all fanfiction, and I mostly write hockey related fanfiction here on Mibba. However, there is a plot I have written twice now, once for a Jonas Brother fic (a few years ago) and then I redid it with the Staal brothers (this past year).

I like the plot, and am considering writing it as an original fiction, without the ties to the famous boys in both senses. It could be easy in my head, I mean does anyone else consider trying to write original fiction ever with fanfiction characters in your mind to help the plot along. No one would know right, unless you write it all 50 Shades of Grey-ish.

I mean, as long as your writing a plot for a hockey fic, they are usually original, the plot is your own and to make it an original fiction you'd have to remove the boys and some other stuff. But does this make it easier or harder?
