First Person vs. Third Person

Which one do you prefer to write in, and read? Why?

I'm having a hard time deciding which POV to write this new idea I have, and I want to know the pros and cons of the different point of views. Since I'm still an amateur writer, I haven't written enough to tell which point of view I find easier to write. I actually like reading third and first person novels equally. If it's a good story, and well written, I'll read it. Though my thoughts on the matter are irrelevant.
