Confused

So I hung out with my friend today, and well I thought he liked me, every time we hang out when he has to leave he always gives me a kiss. Today though when he had to leave he didn't even want to give me a hug, it was like he couldn't leave fast enough.
So what is up?
He is leaving in a few weeks, could that be it? I'm thinking that's it, but that's a bit childish really.
Either that or I got really ugly haha.
Anyways what are your thoughts if any?
I'm just confused, I mean if he doesn't like me I'm not gonna get all hurt, but he is sending me mixed signals.
