Book Challenge - Day Six

Day Six – Favourite Dystopian Book

My favourite dystopian book that I can think of right at this second isn’t strictly a book, but otherwise it fits quite nicely into this category. Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba’s The Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite is one of the best dystopian books/graphic novels that I’ve read, because it involves both a present day/near future scenario where the world is not quite the same as ours - supervillians are always on the lookout for an easy kill – and the über-original ideas that stem from this world are infectiously odd. Put simply, it is brilliant because Way has come up with a fascinating world, where – yeah, people get brutally killed; or maybe obliterated is a better world – but the wrestling match between two space aliens, announced by a talking chimpanzee, is a much more newsworthy event.
