According to my mom, I have an addiction to the Internet. My mom thinks that's so bad, that I'm wasting away. Sorry, but I don't think so. My grades are decent, I'm physically healthy. The Internet/writing/Tumblr/Twitter keep me somewhat sane. I have friends. I don't put up with bull shit.
I mean really. Would she rather I was addicted to the computer or drugs? Out drinking and partying every weekend or staying in and updating my stories? Pregnant at sixteen or on Tumblr all night? In all honesty, if I were a parent I would rather see my kid always on the computer and doing something productive (like writing stories and blogging), than see them out partying, getting arrested/pregnant, failing school, etc.
But, what about you? If you were a parent, what would you rather have your kid doing? Something they can make a decent career out of (things computer related) or out partying every weekend and getting themselves into trouble?
