Jensen or Dean?

So, as I'm writing and re-writing the first parts of my Jensen Ackles story I'm wondering a couple of thing:
-should change it to a Dean Winchester story?
-should I make Jensen and Jared not actors in the story? Just make them normal guys?

I'm kind of hitting a wall. I think one of the issues is that I don't have any idea what Jensen is like. I know what Dean is like because I watch Supernatural. I think that's why I'm having some trouble getting the story going. :( if anyone has any suggestions, PLEASE, let me know! Also, if you could recommend some Jensen or Dean stories, let me know. Thanks :D
