Crediting Issue. Need Opinions

Those who have tumblrs should know there's a problem on the site when it comes to users posting people's gifs and edits they have made. Instead of simply going to their blog they save the image and post it on their own blog often getting more notes then the original post.

That has happened to me where I seen someone post my gif or edit on their own blog and even on other sites other then tumblr. My url is on it but its the point of, especially on tumblr, why repost it even you can simply reblog it. Anyway, what am I'm trying to explain is...

A friend of mine from school asked me to make a gif for her so she can post on her blog. I'm totally fine with making the gif for her for her blog. The one thing that bothered me is that she wanted me to put her url on the gif and not mine. Why would I put her url on it if I made the gif? She didn't make the gif so your url doesn't go on the gif. She told me she would credit me in the post text area but that gets erased though sometimes. Then eventually people will think she made it and not me.

That's like saying oh I made this lovely drawing but I'll put your name on it and put it in a gallery or sell it. I made it though but it has your name on it.

I kept pushing the issue of putting my url so she finally stopped asking to put her own url on it.

My only question is : Would you give in and put your friend's url?
