What Grinds My Gears (For Everyone)

There are some people that blend paragraphs with someone talking. If there is a different person talking there are spaces. If you have a regular paragraph, and then you want someone to talk, you put a space. I know I'm not perfect, but when you lump it all together..it makes it so much harder to read your story.

Wrong:
I loved that he was talking to me and I couldn't believe it. He was making me smile like no one else has and I couldn't help but speak about it. "I love you so much," I spoke to him. "I love you too."

Right:
I loved that he was talking to me and I couldn't believe it. He was making me smile like no one else has and I couldn't help but speak about it.

"I love you so much," I spoke to him.

I love you too."

It makes it so much easier to read what you're trying to write and it wont give people headaches.

Also another is when you have a dark color, for the font, and a dark color for your background. Me, I have to squint and read it and it hurts my eyes after a while. You want a color that will offset the background and will be easy to see. I know you think it may look good, but you have to think about your readers too.
