How do you make a layout?

Here's the issue...I'm kinda challenged, and I am not sure how to make a layout for a story. I can make the layout if it's just the color, but when it comes to making it a picture layout, I'm not sure how to do it.

I made one with pictures once before but I can't remember how to do it. It was also on my old mibba account. So I can't go pull it up and look at how I did it either.

I tried googling how to make a layout, I even basically killed myself typing www.bing.com in the url box...I HATE bing. Anyway all of the links I got were very comfusing, for my "simple" mind.

I have ADHD so I have to look at how things are being made/done in order for me to undrestand. That or I need it to be explained to me in VERY simple words.... words so simple a kindergardner could define them.

Anyway...could anyone help? PLEASEEE???
