Paragraph police

I feel like this is terribly picky of me, but I can not read a fanfiction if the whole fanfiction is in one big paragraph.

I mean, I bet the fanfic is great but I just can not read it in that format. I feel like it's ten times harder to finger out what is going on in the fic, or when people are speaking, or whatever.

When I find a fic that sounds interesting to me, I go and try to read it but I stop immediately if the fic is in one big paragraph. Too picky?

I mean, it's not proper and it confuses the reader. I used to write like that too, don't get me wrong, but don't you find it is harder to understand when it is?

Or am I being too picky?
