19. JashinistExperience - Meditation and Questions

I did my meditation. It lasted for 11 minutes which is great for me. I started thinking about the commandments again. One in particular stuck in my mind: You must raise your children as Jashinists. The one thing I kept wondering is how old does a child need to be before they can start doing Blood Sacrifices? How exactly do babies show devotion to Jashin? Don't get me wrong, but I don't think it's right to draw blood from a baby and do the blood sacrifice for them. While I was meditating, I came to the conclusion that the right thing to do is to expose the child to Jashinism as much as possible - they can watch you do blood sacrifices as well as observe and/or participate in prayers and meditation. It should be up to the child to decide when he/she is ready to officially follow Jashin and perform a blood sacrifice. The child could decide when he/she is 8, or maybe when he/she is 13. Even as an 18-year-old it was scary to do my first blood sacrifice.

Let me know what you think of what I just wrote.

Another thing I touched on in my meditation is Inshi No Jashin (a book that exists in the Library of Congress and in Japan, written in Japanese, for those who don't know). I'm very eager to translate it. During my meditation I ended up doing a prayer asking Jashin to assist and guide me towards my goal of translating that book. In my mind I was wondering what could be written in that book. Would if it's just an average novel about someone named Jashin? Inshi can be translated into Shrine of an Evil Deity, apparently, but there are other things Inshi can be translated into. Aside from that, if it's a true book about Jashinism, would if it says we are doing everything wrong and that everything we get off the internet about Jashinism is false? How many people would be able to accept that and change their ways? Would people be willing to continue following Jashin if there were major differences in how Jashinists perform rituals and blood sacrifices? If the book is a fake, will we continue being spoon fed by those who make up answers to the questions we have? Will we accept whatever we are told just because it makes sense and coincides with the philosophies of our form of Jashinism? Will that lead to others making up other ways of showing devotion to Jashin, thus creating more titles for Jashinists like Innocent and Blood Bound? Questions just kept swirling in my head, giving me a headache.

It would have been superbly mind blowing if a voice came into my head claiming to be Jashin and gave me all the answers. That would have probably made me schizophrenic, though it would be quite a coincidence if I started hearing voices in my head while meditating about Jashin and Jashinism. Then again, how many Jashinists would believe the things I'd tell them if I said a voice in my head told me?

That was the end of my meditation because my head really started pounding.

Unfortunately, it will be about two or three years until I'm able to translate Inshi No Jashin. Even if someone translates it before me, I want to read the book myself. I don't allow others to spoon feed me. I'd rather read the book myself than accept whatever someone else tells me the book says. I encourage others to learn Japanese and read the book themselves too. Even if you aren't confident enough to learn a new language, I encourage you to bring a trusted friend who speaks Japanese to the Library of Congress or to Japan and translate the book with you.

If there is one truth, that is that every individual must form their own individual opinions and build their own beliefs around them. I have a friend who is a perfect example of this. She is Christian and had read the entire bible. Based on what she has read, it is her opinion that her God is not against homosexuality, and lives life believing their is nothing wrong with homosexuals and that they should not be discriminated against.
